Paramedics at rural agencies are often the first to arrive at the scene and find themselves in situations that would typically be handled by a Fire Department Technical Rescue team. They are called on to do much more than their suburban and city counterparts, who have fully staffed fire departments at their disposal; so we do our part to ensure they get the training they need to mitigate hazardous situations until we arrive.
