The fire started in the kitchen and quickly spread into the walls and into the attic space. The fire put up quite a fight but eventually we were able to gain control and prevent a total loss. We are very grateful to Clay County NC Sheriff's Office for assisting pull hose and even spraying some water while our first arriving crews prepared to go inside to fight the fire. Clay County NC Emergency Services for making sure our firefighters were hydrating and taking breaks as needed as well as pumping a truck to free up a firefighter for fire attack. And last but definitely not least Towns County Fire Rescue Dept. for sending additional firefighters to give our guys a much needed break with how hot it is today.
