| Clay County Fire & Rescue would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Clay County Board of Commissioners for their unanimous decision to maintain the current fire tax millage rate while also adopting a revenue-neutral property tax rate for the count
We believe this decision demonstrates the Board's continued commitment to public safety and recognizes that the growth Clay County has experienced in recent years has increased the demands placed on emergency services. We also appreciate the time the Commissioners took to listen to our presentation, review the information provided, and consider feedback from members of the community before making their decision.
Maintaining the current fire tax rate will allow Clay County Fire & Rescue to address critical staffing needs, continue investing in equipment and infrastructure, and begin exploring long-term solutions for replacing our primary station, which the department outgrew many years ago.
We would also like to thank the citizens of Clay County for their support throughout this process. Whether you attended meetings, shared your thoughts with elected officials, or simply took the time to learn more about the challenges facing your fire department, your engagement was appreciated. Your understanding of the vital services provided by Clay County Fire & Rescue, and your willingness to support the funding necessary to maintain those services, helps ensure we can continue serving our community both today and in the future.
On behalf of the members of Clay County Fire & Rescue, thank you for your continued confidence in our organization and our mission to protect the lives and property of the citizens and visitors of Clay County. |
