At this time, the North Carolina Forest Service has NOT issued a burn ban, however we strongly encourage residents to avoid any outdoor burning.

Even small fires can quickly get out of control under these conditions and place both lives and property at risk.

⚠️ Important Reminder: Even without a burn ban in place, you can still be held criminally and financially responsible if a fire you start gets out of control and causes damage.

Hold off on burning until conditions improve.

As always, if you see smoke or fire that appears to be unattended or unsafe, please call 911.

Stay safe, Clay County.
