S. Forest Service will be conducting a prescribed burn of approximately 2,000 acres in the Fires Creek Wildlife Area.

This operation is expected to last 4–5 days. You may notice increased smoke throughout Clay County and surrounding areas.

Weather conditions may cause smoke to settle, leading to hazy conditions—particularly during the morning and evening hours.

Please remember that 911 is for emergencies only. If you have questions or would like updates regarding the burn, please contact the U.S. Forest Service.
