We have recently seen an increase in calls for service that have involved "controlled" burns

If you light a fire you are responsible for that fire, NC Forest Service can and will fine you if you are burning irresponsibly. These fines start at $100 and go up to $25,000. Additionally you will be responsible for the costs to fight the fire and if you think fire helicopters are cheap, you're very wrong.

But, to be clear, WE do not fine anyone or charge for our services, and if you genuinely were trying to do everything right we will advocate for you with forestry.
